Fresno’s First Strong Mayor, 10-Year Lawmaker says Magsig “Demonstrating He Is the Leader” CA-05 needs.

FRESNO, CALIF. — Fresno County Supervisor Nathan Magsig is proud to announce that he has secured the support of Assemblyman Jim Patterson (R–Fresno) for his bid in the new 5th Congressional District.

Patterson, the first strong mayor in the history of the City of Fresno and a 10-year veteran of the California State Assembly, is a dogged advocate for Fresno County and the San Joaquin Valley in Sacramento.

Through redistricting, 52 percent of the 5th Congressional district overlaps with Patterson’s new 8th Assembly District.

“I’ve spent the past few weeks touring the seven counties in my new district and, whether it’s in Sonora or Mariposa, voters and local leaders have brought up one name in this race: Nathan Magsig,” Patterson said. “Nathan is already demonstrating that he is the leader the Gold Country and San Joaquin Valley need in Washington. I’m proud to have his back and can’t wait to work with him as our Congressman.”

Magsig issued the following statement regarding Patterson’s endorsement:

“I am honored and blessed to have the trust and support of a true fighter like Assemblyman Patterson,” Magsig said. “Throughout my time in Clovis and on the Board of Supervisors, I am proud to have had a strong relationship with Assemblyman Patterson to help improve our community. Now, I’m excited to take that partnership and fight for our region in Congress to ensure a stronger and safer Central California for all of us.”
